INSPIRATION, CREATIVITY, ENJOYMENT
I enjoy creating paintings and drawings from life experiences that I have encountered, and my inspiration comes from the things that I see around me.
I experiment a lot with colors and different techniques. Color, light, and shape plays an important roll in my work. Bright colors always seems to find a place on my canvas.
Some of my pieces are created due to spontaneity. Pieces that I have created from spontaneity all start with a single mark on the surface.
Other pieces that I don't create from spontaneity, I would be thoughtful about the concept, the medium, and the different steps that I would take to create the piece. This thought process would often take me months before I even make one mark on the surface; however, once I start on the piece the process from beginning to end is usually quick. Sometimes during the process I would change factors in the art piece as I go along. For the most part the completed piece might be completely different to that of what I have been contemplating for all of those months, and sometimes it would be exactly as I have envisioned it.
The process of making the art piece plays a huge role in my creating phase. Realizing that letting go and enjoying the process of a piece is what it is all about. That enjoyment will then translate to the viewer without any effort. Which in turn is what I would like to achieve with my work. The viewer feeling the enjoyment from the piece.
